Who are the principal investigators?
Lonna Atkeson (Florida State University, University of New Mexico, Emeritus) and Wendy Hansen (University of New Mexico) are the principal investigators on this study.
What are we doing with this data?
We are engaged in a valuable study to examine voter confidence in New Mexico’s 2024 election. We ask voters’ questions about their experience with the election process and campaign. These are important and fundamental research questions in democracies where elections are the way that citizens send messages to their elected officials about policy preferences and holds them accountable.
Our interest is in understanding the voting experience to help improve our election system. Please feel free to visit previous New Mexico reports
hereHow were you selected?
You were randomly selected from the voter file, a public list of registered voters in New Mexico. To make inferences to the population of voters, we use a random sample of voters. Each respondent is therefore critical to the success of our study in making an accurate statement about the variety of election experiences in New Mexico.
